PURPOSE OF FUNCTION IKEA Food is the heart of the IKEA store. It attracts visitors, encourages them to stay longer and enjoy more, makes it fun for everyone, offers great quality food at the lowest prices, gives visitors a tasty reason to return again and again, and provides co-workers with a chance to rest and recharge themselves. In the Netherlands we have ca 840 IKEA Food co-workers in 13 stores serving ca 11 million quest per year in our restaurants. IKEA Food is composed of four separate units: Customer Restaurant, Co-worker restaurant, Bistro and Swedish Food Market. Each with an important role to play in store operations to increase Sales and increase the enjoyment of customers and co-workers.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB In partnership with and under the coaching of the IKEA Food Manager, you ensure that IKEA Food is the heart of the store by attracting visitors to the IKEA store encouraging them to stay longer, enjoy more and return again. You do this through your ability and passion to lead people and business together.
YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your tasks will include:
Ensuring our guests are always in focus, initiating a constant dialogue and taking actions to improve the customer experience;
Maximizing commerciality in order to grow Sales and convert visitors into customers. You exploit everyday opportunities to maximize growth;
Coach, inspire and motivate your Team Managers and indirectly co-workers. This in order for them to manage their teams in line with the HR concept. Provide strong leadership to your team by your own example;
Contributing in the creation of the IKEA store Business Plan and ensuring that national and global strategies are aligned with local priorities;
Establishing and maintaining IKEA Food as a Marketing tool by creating a unique Swedish profile combined with local market needs;
Ensuring a relevant IKEA Food offer by combining and driving range presentation, volume and commercial priorities;
Steering IKEA Food as a fully integrated part of the IKEA Concept in close co-operation with other functions;
Promoting a safety first culture and ensuring that routines are known by colleagues and followed in all daily work.
YOUR PROFILE
You have a Bachelor’s degree of equivalent (CE, Small Business, Hotel management school etc.);
You have 3 -5 years management experience from high volume retail or multi-unit food service industry and your interest in the food is genuine;
You are a considered decision-maker with the ability to influence management colleagues;
You appreciate being part of growing the total IKEA business and creating a better everyday life for the many people;
You have experience of creating and implementing action plans, setting budgets and meeting and following up on goals;
We are looking for you who have strong leadership skills and can lead and inspire a big team – you know that the food business is a people business;
You have the motivation and drive to make people perform, deliver, learn and develop through a strong sense of togetherness;
In a constantly changing environment you continually seek new opportunities to improve the way we work and you are eager to develop further with us.
