The role
As Market Intelligence Analyst at Damen Naval, you will be responsible for executing market intelligence and geopolitical analysis to support our overall strategic objectives. You will provide valuable insights into the shipbuilding and services market, with a specific focus on the naval sector. Your analyses will inform key stakeholders, including the Corporate Strategic Affairs department and the Managing Director, helping to drive growth and success in defence and security products and services.
Key accountabilities
As Market Intelligence Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the development of naval sales strategy, supporting our sales objectives.
- Execute comprehensive market analyses aligned with long-term objectives and priorities.
- Identify and explore new business opportunities in collaboration with our sales support team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for understanding the international naval marketplace, including market trends, analytics, and geopolitical insights.
- Deliver regular global and regional market analyses, presenting key insights and business opportunities.
- Maintain an accurate database of analyses to support decision-making processes.
- Compile and deliver business intelligence reports to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the PR department to provide content for the Damen Naval website.
- Manage and mentor trainees within the department.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement and knowledge sharing within the department.
Skills & experience
To excel as Market Intelligence Analyst, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- Master or Bachelor degree in Marketing, Economics, or other relevant field.
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in market intelligence or business development, preferably in the maritime or defence industry.
- Strong understanding of geopolitical mechanisms and trends in the naval, defence, and security market.
- Demonstrated success in a market intelligence role, with a focus on driving business growth and strategic decision-making.
- Key competencies include customer orientation, teamwork, results orientation, quality and market orientation, flexibility, entrepreneurship, networking, and planning and organizing.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
- Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
