Problem definition
DAF Connect is leading the digital transformation, from the legacy of our traditional products and systems to a more data and service-driven approach. More specifically, DAF Connect is a platform that provides fleet managers and truck drivers with insights into their performances. We are currently expanding our service portfolio to offer more value-added, connected services. To be able to offer the best services to different types of customers, we need a better understanding of how to segment our customers. While DAF has a clear customer segmentation for their products, built through years of experience and close customer contact, services demands a deeper understanding of the customer journey and needs.  Therefore, we are looking for an enthusiastic student who can help us in the process.

Assignment
Your (graduation) assignment will be to first of all look into current segmentation initiatives from our different service departments, think of After Sales, Finance, Used Trucks, etc. Next we would like you to combine these practical insights with relevant theoretical knowledge. Ideally you will provide us with insights on how to do our customer segmentation while also being part of the execution of these models. These are initial suggestions, as the assignment is meant to be a joint collaboration between DAF Connect and the student, so we’re open to your suggestions.

Jouw profiel

For this assignment we are searching for a driven and enthusiastic Master student Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Organizational Marketing, or Business Studies, with an affinity for marketing. We are looking for an analytical person, who is able to easily translate high-level representations into low-level, specific details without losing the bigger picture out of sight. You are open towards people from different backgrounds, listen conscientiously, and are an excellent communicator. An understanding of the automotive industry would be beneficial, but not a prerequisite.
