Graduation project: DAF Supplier Quality Defect Free Launch Strategy in Eindhoven

Automotive risk mitigation for new product launches is prescribed by IATF guidelines and ultimately results in a Production Part Approval (PPAP). This process is summarized in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) manuals and expectations are communicated to our suppliers in our PACCAR Supplier Quality Requirements manual.
 
As part of our strategy for continuous improvement we are now looking into opportunities to further improve our risk mitigation strategies with new product launches and increase our quality performance (ppm) and customer satisfaction to the next level.
 
We are looking for a student to:

• Review IATF and APQP requirements and benchmark risk mitigation industry best practices against DAF/PACCAR’s current modus operandi.
• Discuss with internal stakeholders and define a “best process”
• Perform a gap analysis between current methods and tools and recommend on an implementation plan.
• If possible, participate in the change process towards best practice risk mitigation.

Jouw profiel

For this assignment we are looking for a Bachelor or Master student in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and Management with specialization in Quality Management. You also possess the following competences:

• Quality awareness and Self starting
• Communication skills
• Process thinker
• Fluent in English

Afdeling

DAF Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) monitors and manages the global DAF supply base towards a zero defect performance. Key building processes are: defect free products and new product launches, defect free suppliers and continuous improvement.
